The festivity of Cotillas Towers concluded Sunday August 26, the feast of the patron saint of the town, the Virgen de la Salceda.
The program started early hours with the celebration of Mass in the parish of the same name, which was repeated act late in the afternoon as a prelude to the procession in honor of the patron saint through the streets of the city to conclude the entry of the Virgin to the temple.
And the festivities were closed, as is tradition, on the Esplanade Master Angel Palazón with the act of burning Raspajo, a large papier mache doll that celebrates the past huertano, vintner and agricultural town, and this year has been prepared by local artists Pedro Fermin Lopez and Ruben Fernandez.
It burned in the night Torrena low chords of "Song of Murcia" and under the watchful eye of large audience, who broke into applause with the death throes of the flames.
The closing ceremony, which comes from an ancient tradition that gave name to the celebrations of the town since the late eighteenth century, was addressed by Mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, and a castle piromusical in honor of the patron.
Farewell to the patron
To close the Festivities 2012 three appointments will still religious.
On Monday August 27th will be a funeral Mass in the parish of Our Lady of Salceda and his conclusion a levee.
And on Saturday 1 September at 19.30 hours there will be a song of parting with the corresponding Hail to the employer in the parish of Our Lady of Salceda, whereas at 20 hours the parish of Our Lady of the Assumption Los Pulpites host a Mass for which purpose we will proceed to transfer the patron to his hermitage Coto.
