Ricardo Montes, official chronicler of the town of Las Torres de Cotillas, was recently named president of the Association of Official Reporters of the Region of Murcia, during the Sixth Congress of the association held at the Museum of History of Archena.
Montes also official chronicler of the Moors and Christians of Murcia and in the town of Albudeite, so in the post aa José Antonio Melgares, Chronicler of Caravaca.
At the congress, which brought together nearly fifty chroniclers of the Region of Murcia, participated, among other authorities, the mayor of Murcia, Patricia Fernandez, and President of the Royal Association of Writers from Spain, Antonio Luis Orihuela Galiano.
The celebration in the town archenero, explained Fernandez, was motivated "by these months commemoration of the 550 years of the signing of the Charter of the local population."
Many of the presentations made were centered in the region during the fifteenth century, the date on which occurred the historic signing of the Charter Population archenera.
