On the morning of Monday 8 April 2013 the Environment Councillor Cotillas Towers, Inmaculada Fernández, and the president of the association "Project Abraham", Rafael Sanchez, have signed a collaboration agreement between the two institutions for collection of clothing, shoes and toys in the municipality Torreño.
"The aim is to contribute to the development and improvement of measures for the preservation of the environment," says the mayor Torrena, who notes that until now was the regional government in charge of signing the agreement and now have derived the Consistories .
Thanks to this partnership will be installed soon in the town three new containers collecting these objects, which will join the 16 already existing in the municipality and that allowed Torreño during 2012 collected 38,687 kilos of clothes and shoes, representing the 4% of municipal waste collected in Cotillas Towers.
"Since September 2007" Project Abraham "is this waste manager, being authorized to perform management activities inert and non-hazardous waste," said Fernandez, that underlies "This agreement represents a zero cost to the residents of municipality. "
In addition, the "Project Abraham" in the town will continue their sewing workshops, aimed at people at risk of social exclusion, in which participants learn to repair sewing, repair and recycle clothes and to make new clothes.
