The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today inaugurated the sports hall of the Institute of secondary schooling Salvador Sandoval, included in the Sports Facilities Plan.
The inauguration was also attended by the delegate of the Government, Joaquín Bascuñana, and the mayor of the Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado.
This infrastructure has received an investment of 831,257 euros, of which the Ministry has provided 350,000 euros and the remainder was funded between City Hall and the Sports Council.
Cruz said the new facility "in the interest of the Department to ensure that all villages have quality sports facilities for its citizens and is a paradigm of excellence in the sport offer."
He noted that "sport is a social policy, a fundamental aspect for everyone from the ethical, social and health, and we must congratulate ourselves for facilities like these."
The sports hall will be opened today in school used by students from IES Salvador Sandoval, and at other times by residents of the municipality and the various clubs and associations in the town.
With the new facility houses an indoor sports court with 7 meters in height, with 25.18 meters wide and 45.58 meters long in outside plant, and a detached body of 7.61 meters wide, 39.64 meters long and 3 meters in height, in which are located the access-lobby, two separate dressing rooms, two for teachers, a room for facilities, a room intended for storage, a clean room, a control room gymnastics.
Free dimensions of the track are 44 by 24 meters and includes marking three volleyball courts, two badminton courts, three basketball courts and a football and handball.
