Decrease the rate of obesity, reduce mortality from ischemic heart disease or improve the quality of life of people suffering high blood pressure or diabetes, among other diseases.
Those are some of the objectives of "Active Program", set in the Regional Health Plan 2010-2015 and commissioned by the City of Towers Cotillas and the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs through the Foundation for Training Health Research and the Region of Murcia (FFIS) - in the municipality Torreño.
"Our intention is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle," says local councilor for Sports, Ginés Pérez Iniesta, who notes that "have already gone through the program three groups of approximately 20 members and look forward to activating the torreños in this project. "
The activities within the "Program Check" is performed in municipal facilities with the presence of a monitor in a period of about ten weeks and in about 30 sessions for participants to improve "progressively" their fitness and learn exercises and activities they can do independently.
