The body of Civil Defence volunteers Cotillas Towers is conducting a series of workshops in the Secondary School (IES) "Salvador Sandoval" of the municipality in which students at the school are learning the basics of first aid.
In this initiative, aimed at all students of secondary courses and conducted by the Civil Protection Coordinator in the municipality, Manuel Fernandez, torreños schoolchildren are being trained in different techniques to address in the first instance to an injured person , focusing on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (popularly known as CPR).
"Body of Civil Protection Cotillas Towers, which is open to all who wish to pay their voluntary support in the town and who undergo training, enjoys great importance in the social life of the town" said Councilman Security Torreño, Pedro José Noguera.
"We are proud of the work of the coordinator of the body and all the volunteers and although we often express our gratitude, not enough for all of them deserve recognition," says the mayor.
Extensive work
This Local volunteer corps, which employs approximately 50 members, performs daily activities in the town, mainly in the coordination of events in the town Torreño, such as the festivity (which are held next August) or sports activities.
It also extends its collaboration-training activities like this, in schools of the town and various environmental awareness activities, such as mock rescue, rescue and first aid.
In addition, this body provides assistance in road safety education campaigns that are performed annually in local schools, are present at the weekly markets and provided no warnings storm, flood, fire, etc..

And, as already demonstrated the days following the tragic earthquake in Lorca, lends his support to all municipalities of the Region of Murcia request.
