A year activities "Program Active" Cotillas Towers are at full pace in municipal facilities, a proposal whose "goal is to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle," says local councilor for Sports, Ginés Pérez Iniesta, who notes that "is a program which renews its participants and seeks to increase physical activity from coordination between physicians and primary care nurses and the City".
So concretely is trying to reduce the rate of obesity, reduce mortality from ischemic heart disease or improve the quality of life of people suffering high blood pressure or diabetes, among other diseases.
The 2013-14 edition has two groups, which throughout their sessions together nearly 50 participants.
For one, the new Municipal Sports Centre welcomes these activities the morning of Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (10 to 11 hours), while another group on Monday nights, Wednesday and Thursday (from 21-22 hours) IES Pavilion "Salvador Sandoval".
Progressive improvement
Activities in the "Program Check" is performed in the presence of a monitor in a period of about ten weeks and in about 30 sessions so that participants can improve "progressively" their fitness and learn exercises and activities that can make autonomously.
This program is part of the Regional Health Plan 2010-2015, launched by the local council and the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs through the Foundation for Health Research and Training in the Region of Murcia (FFIS) - in Torreño township.
