The Department of Education Cotillas Towers and Literary Association "Las Torres" held on the night of Thursday November 21 at the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" Local a new edition of the traditional "Tribute to the Master."
This event, which was attended, among other local authorities Torreño-mayor, Domingo Coronado, and Councillor for Education, Pedro Cabrera, had the backing of two cultural institutions in the city: on the one hand, the amateur theater group "Tejuba" whose smaller members read poems of Garcia Lorca, Carmen Conde and others, and the Choir and Rondalla Day Centre for the Elderly of the municipality, which featured a sample of the best of his repertoire.
In addition, members of the Literary Association "Las Torres" recited own poems in homage to the master.
"This annual tribute ceremony serves to pay tribute to the teachers who have retired during the past year," says Cabrera, who notes that this year's honorees have been Prieto Consuelo Gil (CEIP "The Park"), Maria Teresa Fernandez Riano and Vicente Martinez Tudela (CEIP "Maestro Joaquín Cantero"), M ª Carmen Penadés Ullate (CEIP "Valentine Buendía"), Carmen Arnaldos Cascales, Juan Antonio Guerra Gonzalez and Josefina Carrillo Ortuño (IES "Salvador Sandoval"), and Juan Manuel Margalef Sánchez (FP Center "Nuestra Señora de la Salceda").
