The participants in the workshop "Women between Cultures", coordinated by the Department of Social Services Cotillas Towers, fired in 2013 on the morning of December 18 with a morning day of living, held at the Centre for Women located in the Municipal Auditorium "John Bath".
"As in previous years, the workshop laid off the year with a gathering where participants brought different desserts or snacks typical of their countries and the teachers shared Murcia typical products," says Councillor Torrena area Almela Fina, who participated in this event by the director of the Center for Local Social Services, Agueda Sánchez, and social worker, Maria Dolores Pérez.
In this initiative the Spanish language and culture is promoted through various activities such as sewing, crochet, crafts, recipes ... The workshop, with 22 immigrant women from countries like Senegal, Morocco, Mali, Algeria and Romania, is coordinated by municipal social educator and a volunteer who develops the activities of sewing and crafts.
Classes will resume on January 8th and will be held, as usual, every Wednesday at 10 am at the Center for Women.
And to continue with their special activities, the members of the workshop "Women between Cultures" have planned the Jan. 15 visit members of the Day Centre for the Elderly municipality to bring sweets and share some fun.
