The participants in the workshop "Women between Cultures", coordinated by the Department of Social Services Cotillas Towers, visited last Wednesday, January 15th to members of the Day Centre for the Elderly municipality to enjoy them per second consecutive year of a morning day of living.
"To sweeten the morning participating in this workshop led different desserts and snacks typical of their countries," says Councillor Torrena area Almela Fina, who notes that older could enjoy "different culinary tastes to those accustomed" .
So, the menu consisted of Senegal tuna patties with vegetable ratatouille, grits cakes, biscuits and cinnamon carrots, Moroccan tea, coconut cake and more sweets.
Providing voluntary service and municipal coordinator of the program also brought their own homemade sweets such as anise typical Murcia roll a carrot cake and a coconut balls.
Promotion of Spanish language and culture
In this workshop the Spanish language and culture is promoted through various activities such as sewing, crochet, crafts, recipes ... The workshop, with 22 immigrant women from countries like Senegal, Morocco, Mali, Algeria and Romania, is coordinated by municipal social educator and a volunteer who develops the activities of sewing and crafts.
Classes will resume on January 8th and will be held, as usual, every Wednesday at 10 am at the Center for Women located in the Municipal Auditorium "John Bath".
