The City of Towers Cotillas signed on the morning of Wednesday April 9 a collaboration agreement with the "Association of Men for Gender Equality" (AHIGE) in a ceremony involving Councilman Torrena Equality Gloria Fernandez and Murcia delegate of the association, Santiago Fernandez.
"AHIGE is an association created nationwide with over 13 years of existence, is a non-profit organization that aims to promote real equality between men and women in areas such as legal, social, work, family , educational ... "noted Torrena mayor.
"We fight especially against traditional discrimination suffered by women and to encourage men to change more favorable to equality positions," noted AHIGE delegate.
This agreement aims at strengthening municipal policies against gender violence, by conducting lectures, seminars, and collaborate with the Department acts Equal Towers Cotillas program to mark the "International Day Against Violence Gender ".
Specific program
In addition, both presented later in the Plenary Hall of the City "Saama Program" (Service and Support Against Machismo), the first fruit of this collaboration line.
Aimed at the youth population, is specialized in preventing and avoiding sexist discrimination service, gender violence and abuse among young people.
"It is a tool to fight discrimination, gender stereotypes, gender violence and abuse, whether psychological or physical," explained Councillor for Equality Torrena.
