The Department of Social Policy and Immigration Cotillas Towers will receive funds from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality-through of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, worth 19,588 euros, intended to combat child poverty.
"The budget will be used to grant emergency aid social situations serve to alleviate severe economic hardship to families with children under 18 years in charge," says the councilor responsible for the area, Fina Almela.
"We intend to grant aid to 30 families of about 650 euros, which will cover, inter alia, costs of food, rent, water and electricity supplies, medicines," said Almela.
These funds are starting to strengthen aid urgent need for the 2014 Budget of the City of Las Torres de Cotillas, granted to throughout the year and whose number amounts to 85,000 euros.
"In our municipal budgets show sensitivity to the existing economic situation and, for example, from 2013-2014 the aid urgently needed nearly doubled, going from 45,000 to 85,000 euros," says Almela.
