The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas commemorated on the morning of Tuesday November 25 "International Day Against Gender Violence", in a ceremony that took place in the Plenary Hall of the local council and was chaired by the first deputy mayor, Pedro Cabrera, Councillor for Equality, Gloria Fernández, and the psychologist of the Center for Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI), Maria Yolanda González.
This event has read a manifesto against this social evil and has made a review of the actions of CAVI, service created in 2007 by the Institute for Women of the Region of Murcia in collaboration with the municipalities of the region.
A center that serves the municipalities of Las Torres de Cotillas, Ceuta, Lorquí, Alguazas and Campos del Río, and manages prevention-intervention programs in violent dating relationships with minors, coordination with law enforcement authorities and to improve the detection and treatment in cases of gender violence in health centers in primary care.
"The CAVI also offers information sessions in schools in the municipality and various local associations," Fernandez said.
This celebration will conclude on Saturday November 29 with the play "016 women failed to exercise" Fulgencio Martinez Lax, to be staged by the group "The Pesambre".
Will be from 20.30 hours in the House of Culture "Pedro Serna" and spectators attending must provide as input a kilo of non-perishable food for charity.
