The City of Las Torres de Cotillas is fighting against newspapers theft of copper wiring public lighting of the town, a series of vandalism that are making a dent in the good service provided to citizens.
"These thefts involve the areas where criminals operate remain without power until we can replace the stolen cable work carries a few days with the corresponding inconvenience to people living nearby," says local Councillor for Public Safety, Pedro José Noguera.
"These are groups of organized thieves whose detection is very difficult because even perpetrate his uniformed theft as employees of utilities to avoid suspicion," says the mayor, who notes that the last abduction took place a few weeks ago.
"In 2014 the replacement of the material stolen in these robberies have cost the municipal coffers 70,000 euros, while this year and will invest about 18,000 euros this same concept," explains Noguera.
Therefore, the Consistory Torreño wants to appeal to the population of the municipality to give warning to the Local Police (968 624 092) before any slightest suspicion.
"Our agents have an update on the work that municipal workers do on the system of public lighting information, so you can quickly detect whether it is a criminal act," says Noguera, indicating that the Guardia Civil and Local Police They have already made some arrests related thereto.

Those 18,000 euros invested in 2015 to replenish part of the wiring of street lighting will be allocated to work in six areas of the city: the Avenue of the pulpit, from Valencia Street Roundabout access to developments (423 meters);
the Industrial "5 Towers" (535 meters);
Round West Street and Ataúlfo Argenta and adjacent (740 meters);
the Industrial "Los Llanos" (1432 meters);
Anton Tobalo street from the rotunda of Florida Street Netherlands (332 meters);
and San Pedro Road, from the junction of the entrance to the hamlet of Condomina to Los Carriles (350 meters).
"All these actions will lead blinding of existing manholes, sealing them with sand and cement to prevent further thefts," said Councilman Municipal Works, Salvador Sandoval.
