The Argentine writer based in Israel José Luis Najenson was proclaimed winner of the "VI International Poetry Competition Carmen Montero Medina", organized by the homonymous Foundation and the City of Las Torres de Cotillas.
In the poem "Blackout" presented under the pseudonym of Hiram Abiff, Najenson has earned the first prize of this literary competition that rewards the winner with 800 euros in cash.
This contest sponsored once again by the "Foundation Carmen Montero" received a total of 284 works arrived from abroad (Cuba, Argentina, Israel, Peru ...) as well as all the Spanish autonomous communities, acquiring special relevance Basque Country, Asturias Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and, of course, Murcia.
Extensive curriculum
Najenson, poet, writer and retired professor of Anthropology at Jerusalem (Israel), is the author of several books of poetry, novels and short stories with which he has won numerous literary awards.
He is currently director of "Chapter of Jerusalem" of the Iberoamerican Academy of Poetry (AIP), based in Madrid, and editor of the literary magazine "Sambatión".
It is also a corresponding member in Israel of American Academy of the Spanish Language (ANLE) in New York.
"The high turnout and the origin of winning show that this is a contest and becomes entrenched in the national and international literary scene," said Councilman Torrena Culture, Gloria Fernandez.
