The City of Las Torres de Cotillas has launched an information campaign to prevent and fight against the tiger mosquito.
Since its Department of Health information and advice is offered mainly to eliminate outbreaks of this insect breeding.
Among the suggestions are habits like avoiding containers that can collect water, remove standing water from objects, tightly cover water tanks, gutters regularly clean roofs and terraces not cause flooding or maintain chlorine levels in ponds, pools or pools.
Information is also provided to identify this invasive spice, which is active mainly in the afternoon, flying rather low and usually itching in the legs.
"The tiger mosquito is small, black and white stripes, has a white stripe on the head and chest, and white stripes on the abdomen and legs", specifies the mayor of the area, Inmaculada Fernández.
"The City performs work effectively traditional pest control, but unlike the tiger mosquito common mosquito breeding exclusively in private areas because it needs very little water to lay their eggs," Fernandez said.
"We therefore call citizen participation because we can not access the private spaces to fight against the action of this insect," said the councilman.
