Torreño promising young sport continue to shine even in the water and outside our borders.
The canoeist Silvia Thomas was awarded on Saturday January 16th at the gala held in San Javier Murcia Federation of Canoeing, appointment attended by over 300 people including athletes, coaches, managers, officials and sponsors.
And it is that the team that Torrena, the UCAM-AD Pinatarense belongs was honored for his great results last year in the European Championship in the category of Dragon Boat.
"With my team we did this summer a great European in France and went silver in 2,000 meters, bronze in 500 meters and fourth in 200 meters women's category, while in mixed mode we were champions at 500 meters, runners-up in 2000 meters and third 200m "said Torrena.
"In the open category we took three golds, at 2,000, 500 and 200 meters," says Thomas.
"It's a sport that is hardly known and I would like to give publicity," says the young canoeist.
"And, of course, where there will always be bragging Torrena" explains the proud athlete.
The Dragon Boat is a form of canoeing in which they compete as a team in a boat of 12 or 22 people.
Both wear bow a drum marks the rhythm and leads aft helmsman steering the boat.
