The Center for Young Artists Cotillas Towers welcomes these days, courtesy of the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM), an exhibition of the sculptor, painter and graphic artist Eusebio Sempere Alicante.

This is a sample of more than one hundred works ranging from his first etchings and dry points from 1946 to the great and last folder titled "Spiritual Canticle of St. John of the Cross" so that includes all the evolutionary path Alicante genius, who died in 1985, in their original artwork is concerned.

This exhibition, sponsored by the Culture Department of the municipality Torreño and will run until October 26, has the knowledge of graphic works and works of famous Alicante universal through a selection of 115 works perfectly mounted in 109 paintings framing, resulting in one of the most comprehensive visual display that have been carried out ever about Eusebio Sempere.

And is that the content of this exhibition, which opened on the day of yesterday, Monday 6 - within the cultural program of the month of October Cotillas Towers, reflects in detail the characteristics of the work of Semple, defined by abstraction, geometric repetition and linearity, evolving into the Op Art and constructivism with elements of kinetic art.

Raise the light of

Eusebio Sempere's contribution to the kinetic movement lies in its series of abstract geometric constructions which prints the effect of vibration and motion illusion.

Perhaps influenced by Levantine origin, light also plays an important role in visual art, using it as a major element to create harmony and organization levels.

Considers his paintings as a two dimensional surface where he plays with the visual elements, light, color and tone, seeking to create volumes optical effects in repeated geometric shapes.

"His work spans many different media from drawings, gouaches, oil paintings, paintings, screen prints to sculptures of iron and stainless steel, so we talk about a versatile artist able to convey emotions and feelings to the viewer with any art form that was proposed" , said the councilman of Culture Cotillas Towers, Domingo Cava, about this exhibition, which houses the Center for Young Artists of the municipality.
