Cultural coexistence is one of the pillars of our society and on these basic social values are learning a bit more these days the students of IES Salvador Sandoval "Las Torres de Cotillas.
And all thanks to the workshop "Youth walking between cultures", organized by the Department of Social Policy and Public Safety of the town and the association "IEMANYA" and whose main objective is to improve relationships among youth promoting tolerance as a starting point .
Students participating in this initiative are those belonging to classes 1 and 2 Secondary Education (300 schools), with which it aims to teach values to young people to understand the change that has occurred in our society, based on a mix of different cultures from different countries of origin of immigrants who arrive and settle in our country.
Placing a spotlight
The initiative, which is taught Monday and Tuesday (from 11'45 to 12'40 pm) and Wednesday (from 8'30 to 13'35 hours), with four sessions for the school group performed dynamic integration and self-esteem, painting workshops, focused on documentation in the press, team work (which emphasize the importance of agreeing on a group), all dressed up with games and entertainment activities.
The aim is to arouse the attention of young people, improve communication and harmony, instilling our culture is formed by the contribution of the various peoples who have lived in Spain.
"With performances like this one works firmly in the prevention of racism, xenophobia and intolerance among our youth," said Fina Almela, Councillor for Social Policy and Public Safety, "promoting growth and optimal personal development."

The association "IEMANYA (www.asociacioniemanya.org) promotes the integral development of people with needs and / or psychological conflicts, acting at the individual, family, social group and, through actions and educational activities, cultural and psychotherapeutic integration and training, aimed at the inhabitants of the Region of Murcia, EU citizens or non-EU immigrants from other latitudes, with the desire to collaborate in the intellectual and social growth of multi-ethnic and cultural groups are being formed in Murcia.
