The Torreño Antonio Fernández Torres have been declared the winner in the competition for "New Talent 2008" XXI AEB Bonsai Congress held recently at the Palacio de la Merced of the Andalusian city of Cordoba.

Fernandez demonstrated his techniques work best in a Juniperus prebonsai chilensis and to a large audience, beat rivals in the Hall of the paneled palace said Cordoba.

Curiosity

Notably, the permanent exhibitions of Bonsai and Suiseki, Asian art of stones, aroused the curiosity of the visitors, who came to witness the beauty of the specimens as if they were real.

Additionally, viewers were treated to a demonstration of Ikebana, floral art has ancient origins in the Shinto religion offerings to the kami, or spirits of nature.
