The Department of Culture presented Cotillas Towers on Friday November 14 at the Foundation society "Carmen Montero Medina" in the municipality, in a ceremony held at the Casa de la Cultura "Pedro Serna," and that attended the Torreño town mayor, Domingo Coronado, the very poet who gives name to the foundation, and the cultural director of it, the Doctor of Philology Moragues María Angeles.
This new cultural entity Cotillas Towers takes its name from the renowned poet from Huelva, in turn a member of the Literary Association of Las Torres, born with the aim of disseminating the work of this writer and perform other acts provided linked to culture in general and in particular with the literature without linguistic differentiations.
In this act, the foundation gave the City Torreño 90 lots of 20 books each of the work of Carmen Montero, for the Consistory of distributed throughout the Region and to include one in the Municipal Library.
Poetess "Torrena"
Carmen Montero Medina was born in Almonte (Huelva).
His family moved to Catalonia, where she still a teenager.
After living there for more than twenty years in Catalonia, he moved to Murcia where he became a member of the Literary Association of Las Torres.
In 1992 he published his first book, "At the end of the light."
Have subsequently seen the light "Legacy of my children" (1996), "From my soul" (1999), "Collection for older children: The Wizard Gazpacho" and "The Fairy Mariquilla."
More recently we can mention "OK ...", and many other thinking, from his prolific creative career.
Unpublished works and Castilian
In this contest may be submitted any theme citizens around the world provided they meet the requirements set forth.
The poems, which must be written in Castilian, is written in verse, will be unpublished and must not have been awarded in any contest.
In addition, the originals are presented under a pseudonym and in triplicate, and the extension of the work will have a minimum of twenty verses and a maximum of one hundred.
Each contestant may submit only one work and the deadline for the work ends on February 28, 2009.
The awards ceremony takes place at the Casa de la Cultura de Las Torres de Cotillas in late March at a date to be communicated through the website www.carmenmonteromedina.es
