The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today made the first stone for the construction and equipping of new Day Centre Senior Cotillas Towers.
The total project cost is EUR 2,402,694 and is funded 50 percent by the Autonomous Community and the City of Las Torres de Cotillas, according to the agreement signed on May 26, 2008.
The new senior center, which has a lead time of 18 months, will be built on an area of 5,391 meters square, transferred to the Autonomous Region by the City Council and will be located in the village, surrounded by green areas and pedestrian areas , next to the Health Center and the park of the Constitution.
This is a three-storey building, with hairdressing, physiotherapy, nursing and gerontogimnasia on the ground floor, game room, library, computer room and meeting room on the first floor, and store in the second.
In these new units will be addressed to users of the current center of the street Pablo Neruda, which has 3,349 members, and whose condition makes it unfeasible to any reform or extension.
Also transfer the Day Care Service which serves 20 adults.
