The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, today visited the construction of an integrated system of storm sewers, particularly those of Juan Carlos I and Ferdinand and Isabella, to evacuate the water and prevent floods "have always been produced locally in times of storms," said Cerda.
The Minister of Agriculture said during his visit that "Torres has had a huge development in recent years," adding that "we need to pace with this growth infrastructure."
Cerda said these works "will avoid a historic problem of flooding in the streets of the village center, that creates much inconvenience to citizens."
The counselor also stated that Murcia is "a great project stormwater drainage integral involving a wide collection network that reaches the entire municipality with an area of 6.6 km and large diameter pipes."
The total investment of this system, which is run by 80 percent, more than eight million euros, financed entirely by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water.
"What was an ambitious project is already a reality," said Cerda.
The network includes general collectors and street Mula, already completed, and a length of 1,730 and 1,663 meters respectively, and the Juan Carlos I and Ferdinand and Isabella, which are under construction.
Both have an area of 1,385 and collect rainwater from the streets adjacent to lead to the sewage of the municipality.
