The mayor of Las Torres de Cotillas, Domingo Coronado, and Town Planning, Yolanda Muñoz, presented on the morning of Friday 13 February in the Plenary Hall of the Consistory Torreño the project of connecting the Avenida Juan Carlos I municipality with the N-344 and will feature an estimated investment of 3,470,917 euros, from assistance from the Local Investment Fund.
This new access to the municipality, which will cross the railroad Cartagena-Chinchilla and responds to the path provided by the PGMO of Cotillas Towers, "seeks to remove the barrier to mobility and access to the urban core is the railway line "said Muñoz.
"In addition, involves eliminating the barrier between the future developments planned by road infrastructure adapted to the needs of the municipality," said the mayor Torrena.
"This new road infrastructure is of great strategic interest for the municipality," said Coronado, who has stated that "improve the accessibility of existing centers and new creation."
A performance that will improve road safety in the road N-344 itself, because it may eliminate left turns from the two existing intersections to reach the promenade Salada, eliminate existing traffic lights that close off in the direction Murcia Molina de Segura.
Four lanes and two roundabouts
The action provides for an extension to the east of the Avenida Juan Carlos I, from crossing the streets of Los Vincent and the pulpits regulated by a roundabout.
From that point plans to build a road of 600 meters, with two lanes in each direction and a landscaped central median.
You also have a section with service roads for access to adjoining properties and two roundabouts: a 60-meter diameter, which will link with future avenues provided for in the planning itself along the railroad, and another of 58 meters in the intersection of this extension with the N-344, which would create a new high-capacity access towards the town of Las Torres de Cotillas.
It has also planned a rail underpass that will house two lanes of 3.25 meters and an area channel for rainwater collection.
