The Department of Industry and Environment Cotillas Towers has recently put to work for the burial of five new containers in the municipality, to be located in the Plaza Tierno Galván, in the Plaza Mayor, in the street Extremadura in Avenida Juan Carlos I and the hamlet of the Middle League.
With an approximate cost of € 30,000 each, these containers have been fully funded by the Regional Government and the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and they all have three mouths with a deposit of 1,100 liters each, two for waste remaining organic and packaging (the popular yellow container).
Thus, these five new facilities are added to the existing ones in the town and make a total of 21: the end of 2008 had been located underground and 13 containers this year three more have been placed (on the street Alfonso Férez , across from City Hall and the San Pedro Neighborhood Center).
Each container consists of an underground civil works construction of the trench excavation and concrete, a hydraulic platform with the necessary mechanisms to raise and lower the containers and a hydraulically operated lid also has a mailbox for each container.
"With this measure we gain space in public, reduce the visual impact and minimize odors caused by waste," says the councilor of the area, Inmaculada Fernández.
