The Department of Culture organized Cotillas Towers, on the occasion of its program of activities-Free 100% - a new appointment with the "Thursday Literary" The event last Thursday of each month organized by the Literary Association "Las Torres" which took place on the night of Thursday October 29 at the Casa de la Cultura "Pedro Serna."
For this occasion, the theme was the posthumous tribute was relieved to Carlos Fuentes Peñafiel, Balsicas natural poet and was winner of the first edition of "Floral Games" Torreño municipality, held in 1968.
The event was opened by the local mayor, Domingo Coronado, who recited the work with which the author won Torreño poetry competition for over 40 years.
After this reading, the local mayor turned over to the widow of Fuentes Penafiel a plaque commemorating the event, which was followed by the screening of a video with images of Balsicas and poems recited by the author.
The following members of the Literary Association "Las Torres" recited several pieces of the repertoire of the poet, who died this past summer.
At the end of the event, were given copies of a collection of his works with photographs of the author who belongs to the generation of the popular poet Torreño Salvador Sandoval.
