Tomorrow Wednesday, December 16 (20 hours) Social Center in the hamlet of pulpits Cotillas Towers will host a new program activity "Local Agenda 21 (LA21) in the municipality.
This is the first meeting of the so-called "Forum 21", to be attended by the mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, and Town Planning, Yolanda Martinez and the Environment, Inmaculada Fernández.
This meeting-the first step of the fourth phase of this program, serve to constitute the said forum and elect their president and representatives.
This forum, an advisory body and public participation in environmental and sustainable development as its main functions will be to inform or make proposals to channel them to the Permanent Bureau of the AL21, promote and conduct discussions on process and participation in population environmental or present complaints, grievances and concerns arising from municipal operations.
Local sustainability
LA21 is a strategic project of local sustainability agreed between the Regional Government, the local council and residents of the municipality, which aims to achieve sustainable development in the locality, taking into account factors such as economic development, social and environmental.
Thus, it is to achieve integration of environmental, economic, social and cultural as well as increase the quality of life for the citizens of Las Torres de Cotillas.
The implementation of "Local Agenda 21" Cotillas Towers is scheduled in several phases, beginning as early as 2008.
Thus, the first was the technical and administrative preparation of the implementation process of LA21 (LA21 Municipal Organization), the second, the data collection and analysis of the environmental status of the municipality, and the third, the diagnosis technical or environmental audit, have identified the strengths and weaknesses of the municipality in certain aspects, the fourth, which now begins, is the qualitative diagnosis through citizen input surveys and Forum 21, the fifth will be contemplating the " Local Action Plan "(PAL), which aims to address and combat these deficiencies, the sixth and final task will involve the assessment, monitoring and feedback.
