From early on Friday January 22 schoolchildren Cotillas Towers have sheathed their clothing and footwear to face a new test edition of the Cross School who has played one more year on the grounds of "The Play" , opposite the municipal sports center.
The race, organized by the Department of Sports Torrena, started mid-morning and has enjoyed the participation of more than five hundred students from nine schools in the municipality.
The test is divided into various categories that have been held in stages, depending on the age and sex of participants.
Thus, the fry have gone 950 meters in the female category and 1,200 meters in the male.
For its part, the female participants in children's and young cadets have completed a distance of 1,200 meters, while the boys have run 1,900 meters on the children's category.
To complete the various tests, the cadets and young boys have traveled 2,150 meters.
Trophy
The trophies and medals, which was attended by the Councillor for Sports, Juan Carlos Martinez, and Education, Pedro Cabrera, took place around noon.
This event has presented trophies to the top three participants in each category and medals to the two ranked teams (five runners) and a trophy, souvenir to each participating school.
In addition, the organization has distributed free bottles of water and energy bars all runners.
"As each year has been a great sporting festival," said said Martinez, who pointed out that this event is always a perfect argument for "to promote the culture of sport and healthy lifestyles among young people."
